Biographie :

Edward Francis Cline (né le 4 novembre 1891 à Kenosha, dans le Wisconsin et mort le 22 mai 1961 à Hollywood, en Californie) est un réalisateur, scénariste, acteur et producteur de cinéma américain .

Il a commencé sa carrière dans l'industrie du cinéma à 21 ans, avec un bref passage en tant que l'un des Keystone Cops de Mack Sennett. Après cela, Cline a commencé à assister Sennett dans ses productions. En 1916, il a fini par gagner le respect de Sennett au point que ce dernier lui proposa de réaliser des courts métrages pour la Keystone Film Company.

Cline est très prolifique jusqu'aux années 30 réalisant finalement près de 100 courts-métrages entre 1916 et 1936.

Au cours de sa carrière cinématographique de plus de 40 ans, Cline a été crédité sous plusieurs variantes de son nom : Edward F. Cline, Eddie Cline, Edward Cline et Edward Francis Cline.
